Blog
This is a space dear to us where we get to share what God is doing in Peru and in our lives. We try to be as vulnerable as possible. However, we want you to be encouraged. Ministry life is not always easy. We know life is not always easy. But remember God is constantly moving and talking to us.
There is not such a thing as a unique revelation where God only speaks to a few people. The truth is that God is speaking to whomever is listening.
- Ps. Taylor Barriger
Stand firm against him (your adversary) and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are …He will restore you, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.
1 Peter 5:9
I’m going to be writing several blog posts over the next few months, covering topics such as marriage, ministry, missionary life and birth and pregnancy, but before all that I wanted to take some time to thank Stalin, my husband, for the past several months. We have a 3 month old, Zion, and I cry everytime I sit and think about how good God has been with us for blessing us with her. It’s still pretty emotional for me to talk about, even think about, how much I love her so I’ll save that for another post. But during the past 3 months, and going all the way back to when I first found out I was pregnant, Stalin has been my rock through it all. He has taken on so much and I want to take a minute to acknowledge that. So Stalin, this next part is to you.
Just a few months ago I received a call from one of my good friends telling me his mother was diagnosed with cancer and that she had 6 months left. It was heart breaking to hear him on the phone, sobbing while he tried to keep talking. We prayed for her for about 2 months at church, in small groups and so forth. We believed God for a miracle and she was a strong Christian so we thought God would heal her. But one day she told her son “I know God is calling me home and I'm going…”
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but -He has given us a spirit- of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline - abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control”
Praise Report
We are so thankful that you all have been joining us in prayer and we want to share with you some prayer requests that have been answered since last month.
The very last service Stalin and I heard in person was one that has stuck with me till this day, almost exactly one year later. Pastor Al was preaching about the difference between what's true in our lives and what is truth.
In 2020 we were able to reach about 226,786 people through phone calls, clothing and food distribution, wheelchair distribution, online services (3996 people got saved) , small groups, lunches for the kids club and more
These days we might assaulted by questions such as Where is God? Will he care about us? Does he see me? How are we going to make it?
I know we all have experienced some of the same things the last few days. We have wondered if this is real. The hit of it all is so hard that one cannot feel or make sense of much, you just have to go with it. As if there would be no time for your thoughts and feelings.
We praise God and we are in awe at the realization that we get to be part of something that is far greater far bigger and far more exciting that just ourselves. So here we go guys !….
“So, what does all this mean? If God has determined to stand with us, tell me, who then could ever stand against us? For God has proved his love by giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give…”
